UK Outdoor
Pursuits have been organising adventurous
fundraising events since 1984 and through
these events have raised literally Millions in "clear profit" for various
deserving charitable causes (some charities
have benefited by over a Million pounds
each).
We have a
full programme of events already up and
running and so there is no logistics for you
to organise. We provide full
administration for all bookings, meaning
less paperwork for you. The events we
offer are available for 1, 10, 100 or more,
there are no minimum numbers required to
participant in any of our events. You
can also decide to promote 1, 2 or all of
the events available.

There are
no set
costs to running an events with UK Outdoor
Pursuits, yes, that's right "no set costs".

We charge per participant which enables the
smaller charities to become involved in
running large scale events without any
financial risks to themselves.
What are
Set Costs?
Anything that needs supplying
regardless of the
exact number of participants.
Below are few examples of what you
will be up against should you organise
your own event.
Lets say you want to organise a
Hadrian's Wall walk. You will
need, accommodation for a start
(avg. 5 nights).
Which means that you will need to
pay a deposit to hold this
accommodation around 10 months prior
to the event and make the final
payment around 4 weeks prior to
arrival.
Plus, as there are no large hotels in
the middle section of the route,
you will need to supply transport to
take the participants back to the
hotel each night and then back to
start point each day. The
transport will need to be laid on
regardless of the number of
participants (and paid for in
advance). You will need a
qualified walking leader with good
knowledge of the route, which entails
not only the leader's direct cost
but also more accommodation and
transport..
On a Three Peaks Challenge, there is
no running water and no drains at
the base of Snowdon you will need to
supply portable toilets. You
must supply First Aid facilities,
litter disposal, mountain safety
staff, meals, accommodation, baggage
transport, etc. In fact with
this event the set-up costs are a
major factor in the decision for
most charities deciding not to run
the activity.
To organise a coast to coast bike
ride (if you don't have access to a
large supply of good quality touring
bikes (see pic. left) you will either need to
purchase/hire bikes or (even worse)
turn away prospective supporters.
Don't forget that bikes "will" break
down so you will need a mechanic, baggage
transport, etc.
The list goes on and on, and so does
the cost and the risk!!!
UK Outdoor Pursuits has extensive
knowledge, expertise and equipment
to ensure that all of our events are
run, safely, efficiently, cost
effective and enjoyed
by everyone involved.

Invoicing is done after the event so
there are no "up-front" payments
required.

Administration
Another reason for some charities not
operating adventurous events is the sheer
amount of administration that is required to
ensure the event is run efficiently. UK
Outdoor Pursuits takes care of this.
We can perform as much or as little of the
pre, during and post event administration as
you require.
The vast majority of the charities that we
work with ask us to literally run the entire
event. For example we can take
bookings, send confirmations, issue
newsletters, audit sponsorship income,
send receipts, bank funds, send audit trails
to you the charity, etc, etc. The list
is almost endless.
We have banked funds directly into charity
bank accounts for many years and most years
we audit in excess of 30,000 individual
cheques. With automatic cheque reading machines.
